“The works in this solo exhibition are inspired by traditional Japanese weaves, within which
viewers can find, or lose, their own images. We see abstraction, but at a deeper level the
structures of the paintings are a figurative reworking of fabrics that were originally woven
by hand many centuries ago and made into clothing that was worn and maybe even passed on,
linking us to our cross-cultural heritage.”
Situated in an academic context in the centre
of Florence, the SACI Gallery has presented group exhibitions, curated competitions and held
solo exhibitions for both young and established international artists. To find out more,

Part of the proceeds from this exhibition will be donated to ASHINAGA, a Japanese
charity helping orphans worldwide, for their “Tohoku Rainbow House” project, providing
psychological and emotional support to the children who have been affected by the massive
March 11 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami.
